The newspaper Chervivy Minsk

Chervivy Minsk is a publication of a new era about Belarusian “reality,” created by Toni Lashden. It is the kind of newspaper we hope to one day see on the shelves of Belsayuzdruk (a Belarusian kiosk selling state-run newspapers — ed.). Editor’s choice!

Chervivy Minsk is a chthonic urban bulletin, a mirror twin of the newspaper Evening Minsk, familiar to every resident of the capital: it’s the paper they read in the metro, in city coffee shops, and at the workplace. For me, ‘worminess’ is about lacunae, holes, and passages where life actually happens. This implicit and hidden life is buried beneath a layer of earth that you have to break through in order to see and understand what is really going on,” says Toni Lashden.
